PHSC 532 - Genomics 3 Credits This course provides an in-death discussion of molecular genetic principles and genomic methods as applied to model and commercially relevant biological organisms. Review of cutting edge technology, literature and methods applied on a genomic scale. This course will also investigate evolutionary relationships between various organisms and utilization of tools from the genomic era to better elucidate similarities and differences. Topics that will be covered include comparative genomics, analysis of genomic sequences and expression, genomics research applications and genomic circuits. This course will implement interactive online resources, basic bioinformatics analysis tools and medical case studies to understand genes and genomes, and the interplay between genomics and medicines, phylogeny, and disease mechanisms
