SPEC 562 - Communication and Technology for Neurodiverse Learners 3 Credits This course is designed to help meet the complex communication needs of students with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodiverse learners. We will explore the range of communication strengths and challenges that are often seen in this population, as well as tools and strategies to support functional communication, including assistive technology. An additional focus will be on adult communication with students, including how teachers and parents can better communicate with neurodiverse learners. Prerequisite(s): SPEC 560 - Introduction to Autism and Neurodiverse Learners
