CRMJ 225 - American Judicial System


3 Credits
This course examines the role of law and the American legal system. The course will explore the history and development of the court system; philosophy of the legal system function; the principles of the rule of law; the role of the courts in a democratic and pluralistic society; the organizational hierarchy of the courts; the structure and operations of courts at various levels; due process requirements in the legal system; hiring, training, and career practices and opportunities; the roles played by individuals in the system; and current problems and challenges confronting the legal system.
Prerequisite(s): CRMJ 102 - Introduction to Criminal Justice
