ECON 325 - World Systems Theory


3 Credits
Presentations of world systems theory as an interdisciplinary framework by which to understand the development of modernity.  Special emphasis on the emergence of modern science and technology and the world capitalist economy from the 17th century to the present.  Interdisciplinary examination of colonial and neo-colonial expansionism, the rise of the democratic nation-state, and the dynamics of geopolitial conflict.  Cross listed with
