EDUC 519 - Emergent Literacy 3 Credits Emergent Literacy is an in-depth investigation of traditional and contemporary research, theories, and methods in the production and interpretation of oral and written discourse for Pre K-K children. Candidates will understand and use appropriate assessment methods with Pre K-K children. Assessment results will be used to develop and implement lessons with appropriate methods and materials that demonstrate student learning. Field study required. Candidates must work with young children to complete course requirements.
