Live a life of purpose and meaning

Examine the philosophical and religious dimensions of human life through these programs:

Philosophy

USJ’s Philosophy program focuses on a central goal of higher education: critical thinking. From courses in Logic to Meditation and Mindfulness, the curriculum will expand your knowledge and perception to include

  • The roots of human thought
  • The need for and nature of ethics
  • Questions of personal meaning and social justice

Theology and Religious Studies

The Theology and Religious Studies curriculum will encourage you to reflect on the meaning of

  • Life
  • Religious faith
  • Christian living
  • Interfaith cooperation

While the majority of the courses in the program are approached from the perspective of the Roman Catholic tradition, USJ offers courses in other religious traditions, as well as those that analyze the intersections between religion and race, and religion and science.
