PUBH 202 - Epidemiology


3 Credits
Introduces the student to the field of epidemiology. The course explores the historical development of the field and its current uses. Explores epidemiological data and various methods of measurement. In addition, the class will learn about the state of population health using concepts of patterns of disease, outbreak investigations, and analytic epidemiology. Students will explore and critique the effect of health policy on population health.
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore status.  PUBH 101 - Introduction to Public Health  and MATH 110 - Elementary Statistics  OR PUBH 101 - Introduction to Public Health  and PSYC 261 Statistics and Research Methods for the Behavioral Sciences I Statistics and Research Methods for the Behavioral Sciences I . Course exceptions with instructor approval.
