EDUC 351 - Curriculum and Pedagogy for Secondary Schools
3 Credits This is the capstone course for secondary licensure candidates. This course focuses on advanced theory, recent scholarship on pedagogy and evidence-based practices for instruction, learning activities and multiple measures of assessment. Students will apply these concepts to their own content areas. Candidates will teach a video-recorded demo lesson in their content area to the class and receive feedback. In addition, students will apply critical analysis to issues in education and also write a final statement of purpose as an educator. Prerequisite(s):PSYC 100 - Introductory Psychology, PSYC 241 - Adolescent Development, EDUC 265 - The Elements of Teaching or SPEC 265 - The Elements of Teaching. May be concurrent with EDUC 350 - Teaching and Learning in the Content Areas
