NURS 509 - Advanced Practice in Adult and Geriatric Primary Care 4 Credits This course provides students the opportunity to examine the role and functions of the advanced practice nurse in delivering primary health care to adults within the context of the individual, family, culture and community. Synthesis of previous learning is emphasized in the promotion of health and wellness and in the assessment, diagnosis and management of common health problems in adults in a variety of clinical settings. A clinical practicum with primary health care providers is required. Total of 150 clinical hours. Lab Fee: $100 Clinical Placement Fee: $500. Prerequisite(s): Core graduate Nursing courses and NURS 507 - Advanced Physical Assessment and NURS 535 - Advanced Pharmacology
