RELS 215 - Contemporary Spirituality 3 Credits This course explores the nature of spirituality in its diverse expressions, contemporary and historical. Students will discuss descriptions given to the term “spirituality” today and throughout the centuries. We will consider both global contemporary trends and the changes encouraged in Catholic understanding by the Second Vatican Council. By means of life stories (biography and autobiography) and selected readings, we will explore many themes, including the search for God, the impact of faith on the life of the believer, spiritual growth and development, spiritual practices, the many faces of God, justice and global solidarity and spirituality in the workplace. (LAS) (RE) (CORE: Religion) Other: Does not satisfy the LAS requirement if used to fulfill Mission requirement.
