EDUC 553 - Materials and Curriculum Development for TESOL 3 Credits This course introduces students to teaching English to children whose first language is not English. The course focuses on developing academic, subject-rich literacy skills and knowledge in K-12 students who are not native English speakers. Candidates will also learn how to plan and implement supportive, differentiated, challenging tasks using classroom language. Candidates will use a constructivist approach that is respectful of students’ competency in English and includes reference to their native language. Other: Course is open to district partnership candidates only
