CHEM 171 - Introduction to Organic Chemistry 2 Credits Basic principles of Organic Chemistry with focus on structure and nomenclature, properties and reactions of the following organic families: alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, amines and amides. Special emphasis on applications to health-related fields. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 176 - Fundamental Chemical Principles II with a grade of C- or better or permission of the department chair
