BIOL 145 - Hydrology 4 Credits Hydrology is a field of science that studies the properties of water, how water moves on and within the land, and the impact of water movement on physical structures and biological life. This class will discuss water distribution, the impacts of water movement on the physical structure of ponds, lakes, and shorelines, the relationship between water systems and biological life, and the importance of managing water systems for both quantity and quality. This course is a hybrid course, with an online lecture component, and a field based lab component. Most labs will involve travel offsite so students will need access to transportation. Students will also be working in variable environmental conditions. Biology majors will be able to use this course as on physical science requirement. (LAS) (SI) (Core: Science)
