COMM 225 - Contemporary Human Communication 3 Credits The course begins with the rhetorical tradition since rhetoric provides the foundation for the study of contemporary communication across different contexts. You will be introduced to the voices of rhetorical theorists beginning with classical rhetoricians of Ancient Greece and Rome and moving into more contemporary paradigms and theorists. After an introduction to the classical rhetorical tradition, we will then examine contemporary communication as it occurs relationally, in groups, across cultures, and in the media. Various theories will be highlighted as we begin to study how communication works in the world. (LAS)
