                | SPEC 560 - Introduction to Autism and Neurodiverse Learners3 Credits
 Focuses on historical and contemporary views of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodiverse learners regarding the characteristics, etiology, learning needs and impact on the family system. A framework will be set for understanding who a neurodiverse learner is and how to identify strengths and areas of need. Students will be introduced to an understanding and exploration of current barriers students may face and evidence-based practices that meet the unique characteristics and needs of neurodiverse learners.
