ECSE 376 - Primary Curriculum
3 Credits
This course brings previously taught knowledge, skills, concepts, theory and best practice teaching strategies of Early Childhood to culmination. Each student will use previous knowledge and experiences to investigate Common Core State Standards in math, science, social studies, the arts and language arts. Students will create an integrated unit and performance assessment plan based on backward design and demonstrate their teaching ability. Lessons will be created using the concept of Universal Design. Application of brain research theory will be reviewed along with analysis of student work and review of functional behavioral assessment and planning. Classroom management philosophy and strategies will be reviewed and each student will create a personal philosophy statement. Curricula related to the use of technology are also included.
