CHEM 172 - Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry II 3 Credits Introduction to basic principles of Biochemistry of the human body with focus on structures and properties of the major classes of bio-molecules, enzyme catalysis, metabolism and chemical aspects of genetics. Special emphasis on applications to health-related fields. Not intended for majors in biology, chemistry, or students planning to apply to a professional school in medical sciences (premedical, predental, etc). Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisite(s): C- or better in CHEM 170 - Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry I or CHEM 171 - Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry B or CHEM 210 - Organic Chemistry II and BIOL 114 - Introduction to Cellular Biology
