EDUC 532 - Curriculum and Pedagogy in Secondary Schools
3 Credits
This course builds on previous courses and is designed to support effective teaching methods at the secondary level. Emphasis is placed on planning, organizing, and delivering effective units and lessons, with special attention on selecting instructional approaches, integrating technology, and teacher dispositions and methods. In addition, students will apply a critical analysis to issues in education and write a final statement of purpose as an educator. Examination of various forms,of student·assessment, including authentic assessment, and effective classroom management strategies are included.
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 503 - Adolescence , EDUC 528 - Instruction and Curriculum . May be concurrent with EDUC 512 - Teaching for Learning in the Content Areas , which is also required.
