NURS 535 - Advanced Pharmacology 3 Credits In this course, students build a foundational education in advanced pharmacology including medication management of common diseases and conditions across the lifespan. Topics include legal aspects of prescriptive authority, pharmacogenetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and health promotion. Medication selection based on diagnosis, pathophysiology, and health maintenance goals is addressed. This course prepares the student to identify pharmacological treatments for acute and chronic conditions and health promotion. Social determinants of health and cultural considerations in the advanced practice role are woven throughout this course. Prerequisite(s): NURS 519 - Advanced Pathophysiology
