COMM 310 - Public Relations


3 Credits
This course introduces public relations and its role in American society. We will look at the history and growth of the public relations field, as well as how public relations uses communication, and understand the role of research and evaluation of messaging through a variety of channels to diverse audiences. We will use real-world case studies and examples to explain the basic concepts and theory behind modern public relations practice. We will also practice preparing public relations messages for mass media in a variety of formats.
Prerequisite(s): COMM 225 - Contemporary Human Communication  or permission of instructor
