COMM 320 - Advertising and Communication 3 Credits This course will focus on the historical, economic, legal, ethical and social issues that surround advertising. We will look at the theories and practices of advertising with special emphasis on message creation and selection of appropriate media, as well as specific practices used to develop, place and evaluate both traditional and digital ads. We will also practice planning and preparing advertising messages across a variety of media. Upon completion of this class, you should have a broad understanding of the advertising industry and important insights into what is required for effective advertising. Prerequisite(s): COMM 225 - Contemporary Human Communication or permission of instructor
