PHRM 708 - Basic and Applied Pharmacokinetics 4 Credits This course provides a fundamental understanding of the principles of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics that can be applied to evaluation of drug therapy. This course explores the effects of the physicochemical properties of the drug, the dosage form in which it is given, and the route of administration on the rate and extent of drug absorption into the systemic circulation. The course explores the application of pharmacokinetic models that aid in the design and optimization of dosage regimens. Included in this course is a study of the interrelationship of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination (ADME).
