BIOL 239 - Environmental Science Seminar 3 Credits This discussion-based seminar will focus on a current topic in the field of environmental science. The topic will be chosen by the instructor and could include one of the following: Climate Change, Urban Wildlife Issues, Endangered Species, etc. The focus of the seminar will be to discuss research being conducted in the subject area, and how the issue is reported to the general public. The first few weeks of this course will introduce students to presentation skills and how to read primary literature. The following weeks will be spent working on understanding complex papers, asking thoughtful questions, and listening to student presentations. Presentations are open to other students and faculty to attend if desired.
