NURS 731 - PMHNP Skills/Differential Diagnosis

3 Credits
This course provides foundational knowledge and essential skills for the development of the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) role, with an emphasis on psychiatric interviewing and assessment across the lifespan. Students will explore evidence-based techniques for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic alliance and will develop competencies in utilizing evidence-based assessment tools and performing focused assessments. Attention will also be given to adapting these skills for use in telehealth settings.
