3 Credits The principles of biochemistry will be discussed with emphasis on the structure of amino acids and proteins. Enzyme mechanisms, functions of co-enzymes and advance enzyme kinetics will also be covered. Ultimately students in this course will be able to derive changes in enzyme function and structure from changes in the amino acid sequence of the protein. Prerequisite(s):CHEM 426 - Biochemistry I and CHEM 320 - Physical Chemistry I: Thermodynamics or CHEM 500 - Chemical Thermodynamics
