The department of History and Political Science encourages all students to elect at least one course in History to acquire that sense of perspective, which is essential to understanding the world today. To this end, the department offers courses that emphasize the development and interrelationship of cultures, ideas, and institutions.
In addition, the department offers its majors more intensive studies of historical and contemporary events and issues, using primary sources or field experience, as well as internships.
