In the Accounting program, you will start your path to success with specialized Accounting courses and related classes in Management, Economics, Finance, and more. The program’s focus is on preparing you to successfully pass most of the licensing exams for accountants, including the CPA and CMA exam.

As an undergraduate student in good academic standing (B average or better), you are permitted to take two graduate Business courses in your senior year, which can count towards your Master of Science in Management at the University of Saint Joseph. The baccalaureate Accounting program, when combined with the University’s Master of Science degree in Management, meets the state of Connecticut’s 150-hour educational requirement to become a CPA.

Career Opportunities and Graduate School

Accounting majors have achieved professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) and many have gone on to earn graduate degrees. Graduates of the University of Saint Joseph Accounting program have been employed by many leading companies, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, IBM, Blum Shapiro, United Technologies, Aetna, The Travelers, The Hartford, and KPMG.
