The Master of Arts in Literacy program is a 30-credit master’s degree program for candidates seeking to gain advanced knowledge in literacy for professional learning and leadership at the elementary or secondary levels.
This program meets the new State Board of Education policy, which reads: Applicants for a professional educator certificate who are first certified in Connecticut after July 1, 2016, shall complete a minimum of 15 graduate credits of content or content pedagogy, either as part of or in addition to a master’s degree.

This internship is for licensed teachers. Selected interns, with a minimum GPA of 3.25, receive 15-30 credits of coursework plus a stipend for working in a school district as a reading tutor for up to two years.
