Exercise Science is the study of human movement and the understanding of how a variety of factors (diet, psychological, health, exercise) impact the human body. Exercise Science helps us to understand the structural and functional changes that occur during exercise on the physiological, biochemical, and biomechanical levels.

A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science prepares one for a career in strength and conditioning training, health coaching, cardiopulmonary rehab, personal training, or corporate wellness. It is also a pathway for graduate degrees in physical therapy, athletic training, physician assistant, or research.

Students complete a culminating Internship in Exercise Science that allows them to translate theory into practice and advance their skills in a job setting.  This experience is critical as they consider entering the workforce or continuing their studies.

Students are directly admitted to the program with a high school degree.

It is recommended that students should have completed two semesters of high school biology, chemistry, physics, and Algebra II.

Throughout the Program students need to maintain:

  • a “C” or better in all major and supporting courses
  • an absence of disciplinary actions
  • a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Additional Information

Students that will be applying to PT school or other graduate programs may need additional courses in the Bachelor’s degree. Confer with Academic Advising to ensure that course selection aligns with future professional plans.
