The Special Education Literacy master’s degree is for licensed teachers. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25. They receive 30 tuition-free credits of coursework in exchange for working with a partner school district as a reading/writing Tier II interventionist for a program that runs one year. This degree program places an emphasis on developing candidates’ reading intervention skills.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed teacher or eligible for licensure
- Students are required to participate as a literacy fellow with a partner district
- All courses must be completed at USJ
Continuation
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses for continuous progression throughout the program.
Comprehensive Exam
Students must complete a capstone project as a culminating experience in order to meet the university Master of Arts requirement.
