First professional (P1) year
In the first year, called P1, students are introduced to a mix of classroom work and professional pharmacy experience. In the classroom, students move as a group, or cohort, through a modified block system.
The professional pharmacy experiences component, called Experiential Education, is divided into two main phases. The Introductory phase, in the first two years, allows students to apply classroom knowledge in a practice environment.
Second professional (P2) year
The second professional year, P2, continues with a mixture of classroom and professional experience.
Third professional (P3) year
The Advanced Phase of pharmacy practice experience is made up of six rotations throughout the P3 year, which occur in a variety of practice settings. Four of these are required and two serve as electives. The P3 year concludes with an integrated capstone course just prior to graduation.
