3+3 Biology B.S. to Doctor of Chiropractic


The University of Saint Joseph offers a dual degree program leading to a Biology, B.S.  and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Students who qualify for this program are able to earn a bachelor’s degree at the University of Saint Joseph and complete the Chiropractic Doctorate program at Logan University in 6 years. The last year’s requirements for the bachelor’s degree will be earned at Logan University and the credits transferred back to USJ.

Students complete their prerequisite courses for the Chiropractic program while completing their Biology degree at USJ and then apply to the Logan University Chiropractic program. Logan University will accept all USJ Biology graduates that meet the progression standards and prerequisites.

Students may also opt for the 4+3 program if they do not want to pursue an accelerated option.

Students are required to complete all requirements in the Biology, B.S.  major with the exception of BIOL 237, BIOL 485/495, BIOL 497, and BIOL 499. The total number of credits completed at USJ will be a minimum of 90 credits, depending on course selection and how those courses satisfy a core requirement.  The remaining credits/requirements for the Biology B.S will be completed at Logan University and will count toward the USJ degree as long as the minimum cumulative GPA from Logan is at a 2.0 based on a scale of 4.0. The USJ Bachelor’s Degree will be conferred after the required Logan coursework is complete and an official transcript has been sent to USJ for evaluation. USJ confers degrees in May, December, and August.
