FREN 260 - Exploring the French-Speaking World 3 Credits Intermediate conversation/culture course explores selected French-speaking regions around the world, focusing on issues and areas of student interest (areas such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the Antilles, the Maghreb, Québec and themes like the African folk tale, or women in Algeria). Through analysis of authentic cultural documents (films, poems, short stories, newspaper articles, publicity, Internet documents), students examine aspects of both traditional culture and the modern, post-colonial state.
