FREN 306 - France Today: Issues Contemporary French Culture
3 Credits
Advanced-level course focusing on contemporary French culture and on reading, conversation, and writing skills. Students study French behaviors, institutions, and values through authentic cultural texts: newspaper and magazine articles, cartoons, advertisements, videos, short stories, and poems. Emphasis on understanding France on its own cultural terms. Themes vary from year to year, but may include such topics as youth, cinema, foods and wines, leisure activities, identity issues.
