NUTR 596 - Independent Study/Research


3 Credits
This course provides an opportunity for students to complete research or a project on a self-selected topic approved by the student’s advisor very early in the semester. Project options include a focused literature review or an evidence-based review or a pilot research project. Students will be guided through the phases for each option. (NOTE: students planning to use human subjects in a research project must submit an application first to the advisor and then to the USJ Institutional Review Board.)

The final written report and oral presentation to the department faculty will serve as the required final comprehensive examination.
Prerequisite(s): Application forms for Independent Study/Research are available at the Graduate Studies Program office and must be approved by the project advisor, department chair, and dean of the school and
