NUTR 566 - Nutrition and the Gastrointestinal Tract


3 Credits
Students will engage in the study of the nutritional management of health and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). Physiology and anatomy will be reviewed for the structure of the GIT and its role in digestion and absorption, including sites of nutrient absorption, gastric emptying and nutritional implications of gastrointestinal disease. Gastrointestinal tests and investigations where relevant will be explained.
