SOCL 328 - Elder Law 3 Credits This course provides an introduction to the basic concepts of elder law from a sociological perspective. Emphasis is placed on programs available for the elderly in areas such as health care (Medicare, Medicaid, long term care insurance), housing (retirement communities, assisted living, home equity conversion, nursing homes), estate and personal planning for incapacitation, autonomy and the right to refuse treatment, end of life issues, and conservatorship.
