EDUC 532 - Curriculum and Pedagogy in the Secondary School 3 Credits This is the capstone course for secondary licensure candidates. The course focuses on advanced theory, recent scholarship on pedagogy and emphasizes evidence-based practices for instructional, learning activities and multiple measures of assessment. Students will apply these concepts to their own content areas. Candidates will teach a video-recorded demo lesson in their content area to the class and receive feedback. In addition, students will apply a critical analysis to issues in education and also write a final statement of purpose as an educator. Fieldwork is required. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 503 - Adolescence , EDUC 528 - Instruction and Curriculum for Secondary Teaching . May be concurrent with EDUC 512 - Teaching for Learning in the Content Areas , which is also required.
