NURS 544 - Assessment, Diagnosis, and Management of Mental Health Conditions 4 Credits This clinical course advances assessment and diagnostic skills related to psychiatric mental health conditions among diverse populations across the lifespan. Topics include screening, assessment, diagnostic criteria, and management of psychiatric mental health conditions. This course includes discussion of the interaction of psychiatric mental health conditions with physical comorbidities and the formulation and evaluation of a differential diagnosis. The impacts of psychiatric mental health conditions on functional status, quality of life, and end-of-life care are also included. Social determinants of health and cultural considerations in the advanced practice role are woven throughout this course. Students complete 150 clinical hours in this course. Clinical fees may be associated with this course. Prerequisite(s): NURS 507 - Advanced Health Assessment
