Digital Media and Communication, B.A.


Offered by the School of Arts, Sciences, Business, and Education (SASBE) the Digital Media and Communication Program has three concentrations:

  • Mass Media and Communication
  • Sport Communication and Media
  • Spanish Communication and Media

This program responds to the constant demand for highly trained professionals in the media and communication industries to serve bilingual, bicultural, and diverse audiences.

Program Outcomes

  • Understand digital media and communication principles at a level that provides preparation for an advanced digital media production degree  
  • Put into practice those principles and skills acquired. These skills are often demonstrated in an internship(s) as well as in class exercises
  • Understand the use and application of media techniques and applied aesthetics 
  • Collaborate as a team in the development of original ideas from concepts to production
  • Build a strong foundation in all aspects of design and production for visual storytelling 
  • Develop a professional commitment to their field, preparing them to be members and leaders in their profession upholding ethical standards of the media industry 

 

Required Courses (42 credits)


All Digital and Media Communications majors will complete the required courses (42 credits) plus the courses in their chosen concentration (12 credits). All students must select either the Mass Media and Communication, Spanish Media and Communication, or the Sport Media and Communication concentration.
