4+1 Accelerated Bachelor of Science and Master of Publc Health (MPH)

The accelerated 4+1 Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Health establishes a plan of study that will allow students to complete both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master in Public Health degree in 5 years. Students will complete the same requirements as the traditional tracks but the curriculum will be streamlined and allow students to share 9 credits of work between the two degrees. Students will apply to the graduate program in their senior year and will be considered to be Advanced Standing.

Eligibility

Students earning a Public Health, B.S. , Public Health Minor  , or Health Science, B.S. (with at least 5 Public Health courses) are eligible to take part in the accelerated program.  Plans of study will be individualized in conjunction with academic advising based on the needs of the undergraduate program a student is completing.

Admission Requirements

Admission into the accelerated BS+MPH program with Advanced Standing is granted to students who declare their major as either Public Health or Health Science during their undergraduate work at USJ or before they apply to USJ or meet the criteria outlined below.  Students who did not declare their intention of pursuing the accelerated option when applying to USJ, must apply to the pathway program by their junior year.
