PHCY 890 - Brain Drug Delivery: Traditional techniques and future tools
2 Credits
This elective course explores means of drug access to the central nervous system (CNS). Students reinforce their understanding of the protective mechanisms associated with the CNS, then investigate the literature to identify ways to cross the Blood-Brain Barrier. This course addresses the basic understanding of the various factors and rationale for the design, testing and clinical relevance of CNS/brain therapeutic strategies.
