PHRM 742 - Integrated Infectious Disease Pharmacotherapeutics 1

This course presents the principles of pathogenicity of major disease-causing bacteria. In addition, basic concepts of pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and therapeutic principles of the major antibiotic classes are emphasized to support proper selection and usage of chemotherapeutic agents to treat bacterial infections. The drugs’ chemical properties, mechanisms of action, clinical uses, adverse reactions, resistance, and pharmacodynamics are covered.
